Biography
Amanda is a doctoral student in the English department at UTK, where she studies mid-to late medieval and early renaissance English literature. Her research explores issues of medieval and renaissance women and religion, and explores the question of “what makes a woman good” or the opposite of “what makes a woman evil or wicked” in mid-to-late Medieval and Renaissance or Reformation England. Outside of this, her interests include Arthurian literature, Icelandic literature, witchcraft and demonology, morality and virtue, gender, and religion.
