Amy Huesman

Biography

Amy Huesman is a Ph.D. candidate in History, working on her dissertation entitled, “The Wilderness Experience: Imitatio Christi and the Demonic Encounters of Italian Holy Women of the Quattrocento,” under the direction of Dr. Robert J. Bast. Her work focuses on devotional practices and forms of piety among women living in northern and central Italy during the fifteenth century. Her research interests include religious culture in late medieval Europe, Italian society in the fifteenth century, and church history from the Fourth Lateran Council to the Reformation. She earned her B.A. in History, with a minor in Italian Studies, as well as an M.A.Ed., from the College of William and Mary.
